Ever wondered how silk screens are made on a loom? The video on the left demonstrates how to weave a pre-crimped wire mesh on an automatic and manual loom.
Different lengths of wire are formed by crimping machine warp lines (long lines) and filling lines (cross lines). The warp is positioned individually through the loom's heald. The sleeve frame provides the movement to create a "shed" where the crossed wires will be inserted manually or automatically. Once the cross is in place, the loom's sled will force it into the next available warp crimping bag. The hood frame will then be repositioned to create an "Over/Under" sequence.
